Texas is not registering voters online.
Make sure your registration is postmarked by October 5 if registering by mail, or received by October 5 if done in person!
To request an absentee ballot, Texas requires a valid excuse (something other than COVID-19 concerns).
Make sure your application is received by mail or in person by October 23.
Make sure you completely fill in your selections and double-check everything you write in.
Not sure where to research candidates and referendums? Resources like BallotReady provide clear, non-partisan explanations for everything.
Most ballots have specific instructions on how and where to sign and seal both ballot and envelope. Read the instructions carefully.
Your ballot may also require you to enclose a copy of your photo ID.
In Texas, your voted ballot must be returned to your County Clerk's Office only on Election Day with a valid ID, or via County Drop Box.
Make sure to drop your ballot off by November 3.
If sending by mail, your ballot needs to be postmarked by November 3, but you want to send it as soon as possible to allow ample time for processing.
